Rapid point-of-care testing

In office

Strep, flu, COVID, urinalysis and other quick tests with results during your visit, so treatment starts right away.

Often helpful for: sore throat, fever, cough, urinary symptoms

In-office ultrasound

In office

Bedside ultrasound to look at joints, soft tissue and more while you are in the room, often avoiding a separate imaging appointment.

Often helpful for: joint pain, swelling, guiding injections

In-house blood draws

Quest and Labcorp

Labs are drawn here and sent to the major national labs, so you skip the lab waiting room.

Often helpful for: routine labs, annual physicals, monitoring medications

Home sleep studies

Blackstone Medical Services

Screen for sleep apnea from your own bed with a take-home device, reviewed by Dr. Metzger.

Often helpful for: snoring, daytime fatigue, high blood pressure

Imaging referrals

Crown and Touchstone Imaging

X-ray, CT and MRI arranged with local imaging centers, with results returned to us and explained to you.

Often helpful for: injuries, ongoing pain, anything that needs a closer look

Common questions

Can I get labs drawn without a visit?

Members can often have routine labs drawn in the office as arranged with Dr. Metzger. Contact the office to schedule.

Do you take my insurance for labs and imaging?

Labs are sent to Quest or Labcorp and imaging is done at partner centers, which bill your insurance directly where applicable. We will help you understand what to expect.

How fast do I get results?

Rapid tests return during your visit. Most standard labs return within a few days, and Dr. Metzger reviews them with you.

Do I need a referral for imaging?

We handle it. If imaging is needed, our office arranges it with Crown or Touchstone and the results come back to us.
