Common questions

Do these tests replace a colonoscopy or mammogram?

No. They add to standard screening rather than replace it. Dr. Metzger will explain how each fits alongside the screening you already do.

Are these screenings covered by insurance?

Coverage varies. Some, like Cologuard, are often covered; others, like Galleri, are usually paid out of pocket. Our office will help you understand cost before ordering.

What happens if a result is positive?

Dr. Metzger will call you, explain what it means and arrange the appropriate follow-up testing or specialist visit promptly.

How often should I be screened?

It depends on the test and your risk. Some are yearly, others every three years. This is part of the conversation before ordering.
